We’ve been fairly quiet of late and the main reason for that is (as some of you may know) we have been recording our debut album. We are proud to announce THE NAME of the record.
The album will be called The Bones and will be released mid year.
To get things rolling for 2010 though we have decided to play a show at Cubby Hole and play the debut album from start to finish.
Special guests The Mercy Beat and Jackalpac are helping us out and it should be a good fucking night. Come along, get drunk and enjoy the new stuff.
Saturday, March 27th
The Bones album preview – playing our debut album start to finish
The Cubby Hole (upstairs at Rosie’s), Edward St, The City
From 9pm with special guests The Mercy Beat and Jackalpac
Also, keep an eye out for the first single off the album, due out in a month or two. We think you’ll like it.
LOVE YOU

You read correctly. I have just finished listening to the final mixes of our debut album, to be called "The Bones".
It sounds nice. Magoo is damn good. You will like it.
Next step is mastering which should take place in the next week or so then we get to decide the official first single. And a release date so all you fine people can have a listen.
But before then, you can certainly have a listen live when we showcase all the songs off the album this month. Teaming up with our good friends at the Cubbyhole, we will be hitting upstairs at Rosie's with a special set to let you know what you can expect from the album. Stay tuned for more details.
Till then, it's all photo shoots (can you say skeletons and explosives?) and film clips as we gear up for our biggest release yet! Exciting times.

New site goes live.
The crowd goes wild.
Many hours not wasted in vain!
So I'm currently sitting at my desk listening to Magoo's latest mix of a track off the upcoming album. The track is called "Everything Will Be Alright" and it's a nice little romp through a slightly different Rocketsmiths' sound scape. But will you feel completely lost? No. That Rocketsmiths' anchor is still there. Big organs, (hehe, I swear I mean the musical type) punchy drums and a chorus that kicks you in the face. I'm thinking tracking some horns for it could work nicely... I'm getting very excited about releasing this album.
By the way, we spent like 4 weeks in the studio and came away with 3 photos and 1 video on my phone. Here is one of the 3. As you can see, we were all about quality not quantity.
We played our first show of the year on Saturday with the lovely Ball Park Music. Thanks to all who attended, there was a bit of new stuff to try out live so thanks for all the comments. We'll be announcing some new shows shortly - everything is in crazy mode. So much to do before we can get this album out.
While I'm on the album, tentative title: "The Bones" as in: Rocketsmiths - The Bones. I think flows nicely, fits some of the themes of the album and who doesn't like bones really? I use mine daily (I'm talking about the internal, structure of your body type bones I promise...) Anyway, we're open to suggestions and comments on album title so please let us have em.
Ooh added bonus, the never before seen film clip to 'Man With A Gun' off our last EP made by our lovely friend Jessi Gray has been added to the media page. Check it on out!
Time for lunch.
Ian
